Methodist c

Methodist Camp Meeting is art that never comes up for sale in a lifetime. We searched auction records for the last 45 years and none of these have sold. There are four known of these lithographs in existence only in museums or the Smithsonian with this one in the best condition compared to them. Methodist Camp Meeting Edward W. Clay Lithograph Authentic. This lithograph was drawn and designed on stone by Edward Williams Clay. It was published by H.R. Robinson, 48 & 52 Courtland St., New York. H R Robinson was known as the official printer of the Whig political party and his printings collaborated with Edward William Clay command very high premium. The unframed work is as is. It has a tear through the title that has been taped en verso,  signs of mat burn on sides. Image beautiful colorful and in nicer condition than the other 3 known in existence in museums. It measures 11 3/4" x 18 7/8. Methodists religion beban in the later last half of the 18th century with early Methodist art highly collectable. Selling in the low to mid 5 figures. This piece I'm selling here has wonderful astetic imagery and is hand colored masterfully. A beautiful recordered history of early Methodism done by a well known duo of 19th century artistic talent. Edward William Clay and publisher H R Robinson. There is original pencil numbering en verso. 3 other Edward William Clay H R Robinson black and white prints of Andrew Jackson satire sold recently for $5000 -$8125 - $13,750 Heritage Auction Sold on Oct 15, 2022 for: $13,750.00 I turned down half a dozen offers in the last 4 years the highest one was $6,000 so you know where I'm at and that was before the $13,750 sale on heritage on October 15th 2022.
